About Organization:
New Way Social and Development Organization (NSDO) is a development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization working in Afghanistan since 2011. Our primary focused are women and children. Our work has seen momentous changes in the lives of thousands of marginalized and vulnerable communities, particularly women and children living in fragile and humanitarian situations in Afghanistan. This remarkable transformation has realized by the pronounced support and backing of our upright partners, including German International Cooperation (GIZ), USAID, European Commission (EC) Save the Children International, GFA, DAI, UN-HABITAT, UNAMA, International development stakeholders, and our community partners. We have been working in three sectors Advocacy, humanitarian and development in Afghanistan since 2011. We have been engaged in women economic empowerment through; income generation, agriculture development and Value chain development interventions in the north of Afghanistan.
Job Purpose:
The TVET Expert is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, technical management, and quality assurance of vocational training activities across project locations, primarily in Kabul and Parwan and Herat provinces. This role aims to ensure the effective implementation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs in alignment with project goals, market needs, and industry standards. The TVET Expert will lead the development and adaptation of curricula, support capacity-building of trainers, foster strategic partnerships with stakeholders including private sector actors, and ensure the integration of cross-cutting themes such as gender equality and social inclusion. Through continuous monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, the role contributes to enhancing the employability of trainees and the long-term sustainability of vocational training initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities and task

  • Coordinate the planning, implementation, and supervision of vocational training related activities in Kabul and Parwan provinces in accordance with the approved project document, work plan
  • Technically manage the master trainers and coordinate with partners in Kabul and Parwan provinces, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities, effective communication and coordination, and high-performance standards.
  • Ensure that teaching strategies actively engage students, prioritize their learning needs, and encourage participation throughout all technical training sessions.
  • ensure that both home-based and non-home-based training centers operate with clearly defined timetables. Confirm that all Master Trainers prepare and follow structured lesson plans aligned with training objectives.

  • Ensure the systematic utilization of training materials, aligned with the approved curriculum. technical guidance and support in the development and implementation of TVET curricula.
  • Oversee the delivery of TVET training programs to ensure they meet quality standards and project objectives.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify trainings needs and gaps.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and update TVET curricula based on market demands and industry standards.
  • Ensure the integration of practical skills and competencies into the training programs.
  • Facilitate and coordinate training sessions for trainers introduced by private sector enterprises.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of trainings programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Develop strategies to align TVET programs with market needs and enhance employability of trainees.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with private sector enterprises, government agencies, civil society organizations, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders at provincial and district levels.
  • Facilitate partnerships and collaborations to support the successful implementation of the project.
  • Develop and implement knowledge management strategies to capture and share best practices and lessons learned.
  • Ensure effective documentation and reporting of project activities and outcomes.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Project Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and other events as required.
  • Ensure that the project integrates cross-cutting issues such as gender equality, women’s empowerment, and social cohesion in all its activities and outputs.
  • Prepare regular narrative reports on the project activities, achievements, challenges and lessons-learned for internal management and external reporting to the donor.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges and under supervision of the Project Manager/Program Manager, develop mitigation measures and contingency plans to ensure smooth implementation of the project.
  • Conducting staff meeting on weekly basis with provincial team for better coordination, implementation and addressing challenges and issues faced by them during the implementation phase.
  • Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing among the project team, partners and stakeholders on the best practices, innovations and lessons-learned from the project.
  • Attending all sectoral meetings and presenting NSDO’s operations within the context of project to relevant governmental and non-governmental authorities and organizations.
  • Any other tasks being assigned by Project Manager/Program Manager.
  • Developing new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization.
Job Requirements:
  • Master's degree in education, technical and vocational education or any relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in designing, managing, and implementing TVET projects with national or international NGOs.Demonstrated and strong knowledge and skills in TVET training, competency standards, TVET facilities and equipment and private sector support, especially in the context of Afghanistan.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, with ability to motivate and coordinate a diverse team of staff, and partners.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills, with ability to adapt to changing situations and cope with challenges.
  • Excellent report writing skills, with ability to produce clear, concise, and quality reports for internal management and external reporting to the donor.
  • Best oral and written communication skills in English and local languages
  • Visit the project’s targeted districts and training centers
  • Compliance and adherence to all the organizational rules and regulations
  • Morally and disciplinary fit for the job.
  • Having good knowledge and skills in computer particularly MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Ability to work under pressure.
