About Organization:
New Way Social and Development Organization (NSDO) is a development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization working in Afghanistan since 2011. Our primary focused are women and children. Our work has seen momentous changes in the lives of thousands of marginalized and vulnerable communities, particularly women and children living in fragile and humanitarian situations in Afghanistan. This remarkable transformation has realized by the pronounced support and backing of our upright partners, including German International Cooperation (GIZ), USAID, European Commission (EC) Save the Children International, GFA, DAI, UN-HABITAT, UNAMA, International development stakeholders, and our community partners. We have been working in three sectors Advocacy, humanitarian and development in Afghanistan since 2011. We have been engaged in women economic empowerment through; income generation, agriculture development and Value chain development interventions in the north of Afghanistan.
Job Purpose:
The job purpose is to oversee and manage all aspects of project implementation in the province, including developing and updating work plans and budgets, coordinating activities such as training and facility improvements, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. Ensure adherence to quality standards, integrate cross-cutting issues, monitor progress, prepare reports, and participate in coordination and learning events. Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders, track project costs, resolve issues, and support the project team to achieve objectives efficiently and effectively.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and update the provincial work plan and budget for the project activities, in consultation with the project manager and program lead.
  • Provide practical and technical follow up and monitoring of the entire project activities to ensure the sustainability and impact of the project.
  • Coordinate and manage the project activities in the province, such as training of master trainers, improvement of TVET centers/classes and equipment, and promotion of private sector partnership, in accordance with the project work plan, budget, and quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with relevant government authorities, private sector actors, civil society organizations, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders at provincial and district levels.
  • Ensure that the project integrates cross-cutting issues such as gender equality, women’s empowerment, and social cohesion in all its activities and outputs.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the project staff, partners, and beneficiaries in the province, such as facilitating trainings, workshops, meetings, and field visits, preparing, and distributing materials and equipment, and ensuring compliance with the donor and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress and outcomes of the project activities in the province, using quantitative and qualitative data, indicators, and tools, and report the results and recommendations to the project manager and the technical specialists.
  • Prepare and submit regular and timely reports on the project activities, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned in the province, using the required formats and templates, and in accordance with the reporting schedule and guidelines.
  • Participate in the project coordination and learning events, such as team meetings, webinars, conferences, and trainings, and share the provincial perspectives, insights, and feedback.
  • Communicate and engage with the donor, the government, the TVET institutions, the private sector, and other relevant stakeholders, to ensure their participation, collaboration, and feedback in the project activities, and to disseminate and advocate the project results and impact.
  • Submitting project deliverables to Project Manager and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.
  • Track project costs to meet budget and coordinate with Project Manager
  • Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Participate in all relevant meetings in the provincial level.
  • Developing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  • Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Project Manager/Program Department.
Job Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Management, economics, or a related field. Knowledge of project management is an asset.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in managing Education/TVET projects.
  • For better result and due to needs of familarity with the field, we prefer the candiadates who are from Parwan province and currently living there.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in TVET training, competency standards, TVET facilities and equipment and private sector support, especially in the context of Afghanistan.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, with ability to motivate and coordinate a diverse team of staff, and partners.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills, with ability to adapt to changing situations and cope with challenges.
  • Excellent report writing skills, with ability to produce clear, concise, and quality reports for internal management and external reporting to the donor.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Dari and/or Pashto is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant project management software applications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to the project sites in Parwan Province.
