About Organization:
New Way Social and Development Organization (NSDO) is a development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization working in Afghanistan since 2011. Our primary focused are women and children. Our work has seen momentous changes in the lives of thousands of marginalized and vulnerable communities, particularly women and children living in fragile and humanitarian situations in Afghanistan. We have been working in three sectors Advocacy, humanitarian and development in Afghanistan since 2011. We have been engaged in women economic empowerment through; income generation, agriculture development and Value chain development interventions in the north of Afghanistan.
Job Purpose:
Lead the provision of comprehensive psychosocial support and counseling services to vulnerable individuals affected by gender-based violence (GBV) in designated areas. Collaborate closely with local communities, healthcare facilities, and relevant stakeholders to ensure coordinated and effective delivery of services, adhering to confidentiality and ethical standards.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the provision of comprehensive psychosocial support and counseling services to vulnerable individuals affected by gender-based violence (GBV).
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions, trauma care, and distribute dignity kits while ensuring strict confidentiality of client records.
  • Facilitate referrals to medical professionals and adhere to standard referral protocols across healthcare facilities.
  • Coordinate with government departments, NGOs, and legal entities to enhance support networks and access to resources for GBV survivors.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation visits to healthcare facilities and community focal points to assess service delivery effectiveness.
  • Support community mobilization efforts and conduct awareness-raising initiatives to strengthen local capacity in identifying and responding to GBV cases.
  • Provide training and supervision to psychosocial counselors to maintain quality standards in service provision.
  • Report regularly to supervisors on project progress and participate actively in relevant meetings to advance project objectives.
Job Requirements:
  • Best oral and written communication skills in local languages and English if possible
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychosocial counselling or bachelor’s degree in psychology.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the provision of psychosocial counselling services. experience with vulnerable girls and women s will be a plus point
  • Having full knowledge of cultural and religious sensitivities and values
  • Compliance and adherence to all the organizational rules and regulations including anti-harassment policy
  • Be morally and disciplinary fit for the job.
  • Having good knowledge and skills in computer particularly MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Be able to work under pressure
