New Way Social and Development Organization (NSDO) is a development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization working in Afghanistan since 2011. Our primary focused are women and children. We have been working in three sectors Advocacy, humanitarian and development in Afghanistan since 2011. We have been engaged in women economic empowerment through; income generation, agriculture development and Value chain development interventions in the north of Afghanistan.
Job Purpose:
Coordinate, oversee, and ensure the effective implementation of water infrastructure projects, including design, construction, and community mobilization, to support sustainable access to clean water and sanitation in Baghlan province, adhering to WASH Cluster standards and guidelines.
Job Responsibilities:
  • In consultation with local authorities and beneficiaries identify sites and target households for water source macro-water catchments RO filtration unit pipe networks and other project interventions in target locations.
  • Prepare design package of gravity fed/Solar water network reservoirs macro water catchments & water wells as well as construction plan for every single infrastructure.
  • Provide detail technical specification in BoQs and ToR for contractors.
  • Supervise construction supervisor and daily labours building their capacity and providing technical support to strengthen their construction skills
  • Ensure quality work in construction/rehabilitation of water supply and groundwater recharge infrastructure.
  •  Ensure sustainability aspect of infrastructure before landscaping in the field
  • Maintain proper documentation of construction work progress as well as labour timesheet.
  • Liaise with project manager & other relevant technical staff on progression of construction/rehabilitation works.
  • Timely reporting to the project manager on project updates gaps obstacles and challenges of construction work on daily weekly monthly & quarterly basis.
  • Support Construction Supervisor to conduct one day technical training on slight technical repairing work developing budget plan and fee collection and proper O&M of water infrastructure.
  • Mobilizing communities (including religious leaders) toward program objective & post ending sustainability.
  • Coordinate closely with project manager to ensure timely implementation of the project.
  • Work with the project staff in Baghlan province for the proper and timely implementation of the project.
  • Ensure all project operations are implemented as per the WASH Cluster.
  • Provide guidance to the WASH Facilitators on hygiene kits distribution and hygiene promotion. 
  • Prepare plan and report of the activities progression and submit to the project supervisor
  • Ensure that monitoring and information management tools are up to date and contain all relevant information.
  • Organize and supervise the hygiene kits distributions in the field.
  • Organize and supervise the WASH activities in the field.
  • Responsible to ensure that all necessary distribution equipment is available at the distributions center
  • Perform any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor
Job Requirements:
  • Best oral and written communication skills in local languages and English if possible
  • Bachelor in Public Health, Social Sciences
  • 2-4 years of Project Management/Coordination experience in WASH sector
  • Having full knowledge of cultural and religious sensitivities and values
  • Compliance and adherence to all the organizational rules and regulations including anti-harassment policy
  • Be morally and disciplinary fit for the job.
  • Having good knowledge and skills in computer particularly MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Be able to work under pressure
